Apps have officially taken over the world, but if we had to narrow our selection down to seven, which ones would make the cut?
1. Social media of choice
This list would have been a lot easier if I was allowed to separate Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and Pinterest. Hey ho, not to be.
Be it Clash of Clans, Angry Birds, Pokémon Go or Stick Cricket, games have become a crucial part of our mobile experiences. How else do we pass bowel movements?
There is a familiar ping repeated countless times every time a story breaks. Listen to it in public, you’d be surprised how frequent you hear it. Emma, because she’s different, doesn’t have the BBC news app – instead she gets all her news from a Spanish alternative.
4. Weather app
Is it going to be raining in the next hour? Crucial, crucial information this.
5. Catch up TV
Long bus and train journeys make a catch up tv app (and headphones – unless you want to really piss the BO queen sat next to you off) essential for the commuters among us.
6. Food apps
Emma’s forced me to include this, apparently they are good for new recipe ideas. She says Green Kitchen are the best.
How else do we decide who pays what at the office Christmas meal? The fact the iPad doesn’t include a calculator is one of the biggest crimes of the 21st century.
